Allison Kavey is an associate professor of History at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the CUNY Graduate Center. Her research interests include early modern history of science and magic, and she is currently working on a book about Agrippa von Nettesheim's magical cosmology. She recently co-authored a book with Lester Friedman, 'Monstrous Progeny: A History of the Frankenstein Narratives' (Rutgers University Press, 2016). Her other publications include 'Books of Secrets: Natural Philosophy in England, 1550-1600', and the edited collections 'Imagining Early Modern Histories' (Ashgate, 2015) and 'World-Building and the Early Modern Imagination' (Palgrave, 2010).
