Rich manages the University of Victoria Libraries Digital Scholarship Commons which helps the campus community explore & express their ideas in ways other than text. The DSC does this by loaning digital tools & teaching their use. Research interests include makerspace pedagogy.

The University of Victoria Libraries’ Digital Scholarship Commons taught over 20,000 workshop participants between April 2017 and July 2022. Over 1,300 of those participants earned an informal credential, or digital badge, for successful completion.
